Odissi is back with her brand new cut "Red Headed Devil Woman" infusing Techno, Electro and an infectious vocal with a throw-back to her offbeat upbringing in the swamplands of southern USA. The lyrics, a folky tale of a creole voodoo queen straight from the bayous of Louisiana, were the sole offering for a remix competition held by Lot49 in September of 2010. Raising the bar in terms of creativity, producers had only the vocal and no additional parts to work from to produce their versions of the original. Many answered the call and the winning remix was a dirty electro revamp by Dirt Revolver that was featured on the label's "Take Miami" Compilation, a definitive guide to the underground sound of this year's Miami Winter Music Conference which was compiled and mixed by label boss Dylan Rhymes. The standard of the submissions were so high however, that the decision was made to feature some additional contestants in the package as well, a bumpin' tech-house re-rub from London based Ettica and the twisted technoesque styling from Finland's Isogone.
Commissioned especially for Lot49's breakbeat hardcore, and rounding out a truly diverse selection of styles and sounds, is a heavy duty breaks remix by US based beat monger Stephen Cole.
